Manage the Crisis from Kuala Lumpur

For the 14th times, the Central Serikat Perusahaan Pers (SPS Pusat) organized the serial workshop, “How to Handle Press Well” in Radius International Hotel, Kuala Lumpur ( September 26th-28th, 2012).  Instead of the theme of the workshop was “Handling Crisis & Emergency Response,” the committee had  to face a little ‘crisis’ in organizing the event.

On the first day of the workshop, the committe had to handle the speaker, Danang S. Baskoro the Director of PT ASDP,  who suddenly could not perform. He had to manage to reach Jakarta as there was a people boat accident in Selat Sunda, one of the sailing tracks under ASDP supervision.

Finally, instead of waiting Danang Baskoro, whic was could not be done, the committee  invited two workshop participants; Herry Djufraini (Bank DKI) and Herry Purwanto (PTPN XII), to share their experience in handling communication crisis in their companies.

Fortunately, all of the participants  were okay accepting the sudden change of workshop speaker that day. On the Second day, the workshop which followed by 37 participants from 21 institutions, run as the shcedule. The speaker were 

The theme of the workshop, which theme was “Handling Crisis & Emergency Response”, followed by 37 participants from 21 institutions; Indah Soepraba (PT Fortune PR),  M Ridlo E’isy (Member of Dewan Pers), dan  Daru Priyambodo (Koran TEMPO).

The participants also visited the Ambassador of Republic of Indonesia in Malaysia and The Straits Times, a big news paper in the country. Closing the serial of the workshop Ho to handle Press Well in 2012, SPS Pusat organized the last serial of the workshop in Belitong on November 23rd-24th 2012.
