The Printed Media Industries Development Facing the Decreasing Ad

The declining advertisers in printed media, in this case is magazine, becomes one of the biggest issue faced by the media companies. Not only the advertisement sector is declining, but the circulation as well.

The points are stated by the participants in the focus group discussion held by the Serikat Perusahaan Pers (SPS) Pusat, Wednesday (27/02/2013) in Jakarta. In the discussion is attended by the representations of some magazines.

“The advertisers changes over from the magazine as it the audince still need to pay for it, whle another media, such as television is free,” says the representation of MRA Group Sandy F.

In order to solve the problem, according to GoGirl Business Director Nina Moran, the media have to initiate the cooperation. “Cooperating in making the campaign to educate the market whay they have to advertise in the magazine,”Nina says.

Besides, almost of the magazines in Indonesia also face the callenge from the circulation sector. In the discussion, it is revealed that many agents close as the declining circulation recently.

About the problem, according to Sandy, MRA Group has some ideas to solve it, by having own retail to make the more expeditious cahsflow. “The magazines will live in their own circumstances. If the distribustion line is created by the pepople from the magazines it will be easier,” Sandy explains. *ahp
